It’s a historic day for the ATU as the Pennsylvania State House Committee approved House Bill 299 – the “Jake Schwab Bill” to create state worker safety protections for public sector employees similar to the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) protection for private workers. This bill, which our Union has pushed to get passed for many years, is named after our Local 568-Erie, PA, Brother Jake Schwab, a mechanic who was tragically killed in a workplace accident in 2014.
