Today International President John Costa paid a surprise visit to Local 241-Chicago, IL

Today International President John Costa paid a surprise visit to Local 241-Chicago, IL, as they prepare for their upcoming swearing-in ceremony. The unexpected visit was a powerful reminder that ATU leadership at every level stands shoulder to shoulder with our Locals on the front lines.

The moment became even more meaningful when Local 241 President/Business Agent Keith Hill presented Costa with a piece of history: the very pen Governor Pritzker used to sign a landmark $1.5 billion public transportation funding bill. This historic legislation will modernize our transit systems and protect riders and workers alike by preventing devastating service cuts throughout the region.
“This pen represents what we can accomplish when workers stand together and fight for what’s right,” said Costa. “Because of the strength, dedication, and solidarity of ATU members, public transportation in Chicago has a future and that future is powered by union workers.”

Moments like these highlight the impact of collective action, strong leadership, and relentless advocacy. As Chicago Local 241 prepares to take the oath, they do so backed by an International Union that never stops fighting for its members and the communities we serve. Stay tuned for more!
