IP Costa joined our dedicated members for our innovative ATU Stewards Training in Ontario, CA, with Local 113-Toronto, ON

On day two of our innovative ATU Stewards Training in Ontario, Canada, with Local 113-Toronto, ON, International President John Costa joined our dedicated members for another day of in-depth learning, sharing insights, and strengthening the foundation of leadership that defines our Union.

To continue engaging directly with members, President Costa also visited frontline transit workers at ATU Local 1775, who serve the community through their work at Barrie Transit. He took time to speak with operators, mechanics, and support staff—listening to their experiences, acknowledging their challenges, and celebrating their unwavering commitment to public service.

“You are the heart and driving force behind public transit in Barrie,” said Costa, addressing members. “That’s why it’s so important for us to be here—to listen to your concerns, to stand with you, and to make sure your voices are heard loud and clear. Keep up the incredible work you're doing on the frontlines every day. The International has your back, and we’ll continue fighting right alongside you for the transit system you and your community deserve.”
Costa reaffirmed ATU’s steadfast commitment to advocating for the issues that matter most to our members: safe and healthy workplaces, fair wages, job security, and the dignity and respect every worker deserves.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the hardworking members of Local 113 and Local 1775 for your continued dedication to the community and the warm welcome you extended during this meaningful visit.
