Under International President John Costa, our Union has played a vital role in training, recruiting, and advancing the careers of the transit workforce. Costa’s Local 819-Newark, NJ, is leading the way in the Garden State with the launch of their Mentors Moving NJ Transit the newest joint labor-management partnership between the Local and NJ Transit.
This Coach Operator Mentor Training will serve as a pilot to launch at ATU Locals across New Jersey. This shows what can be accomplished when labor and management come together around workforce development.
