IP Costa Joins Local 689-Washington, DC, AFL-CIO, Washington DC Labor Leaders at Meeting to Modernize DC Area Federations and CLCs

Today at the AFL-CIO, as a member of the AFL-CIO Commission on Innovation to Strengthen State, Area, and Local Central Bodies, International President John Costa joined with Local 689-Washington, DC, President/Business Agent Raymond Jackson to meet with AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler, AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Fred Redmond and labor leaders from across the DMV (D.C., Maryland and Virginia) to talk about efforts in the area to modernize and strengthen the state federations and central labor councils. For our members, Locals, and union, these organizations play an important role in politics, community engagement, organizing, and other critical issues.
