Today in Dover, NJ, International President John Costa joined Local 1614-Dover, NJ, President/Business Agent Jamie Young, and our fed up Lakeland Bus Lines members at a packed practice picket for a fair contract and better service for our riders.
Firing up the crowd with a call and response of ‘Who moves this city? We move this city,’ Costa called out Lakeland Bus Lines. “I’m proud to stand with you today in solidarity to send a loud and clear message to Lakeland Bus Lines that we deserve to be treated with dignity and respect,” Costa told the packed rally. “For the sake of the riders and the community, it’s time for management to go back to the table to get a fair deal done. Our members will stand together united until we win.”
In a strong show of solidarity, International Vice President Ray Greaves, ATU NJ State Council Chair Orlando Riley, and our Locals and members from across the Garden State joined with our Lakeland Bus Lines members for the spirited rally which comes on the heels of the Local members overwhelmingly voting to authorize a strike if necessary.
Thank you to all who came out to show your support because at the ATU, we are Stronger Together!
