Livestream the Candlelight Vigil to Remember Our Fallen Local 265-San Jose, CA, Brothers, 6:15am PT, Thursday, May 26

One year ago, on May 26th at 6:33 am PT, our Union suffered an incredible loss after a tragic shooting at a Santa Clara VTA rail yard that resulted in the death of nine of our brothers of Local 265-San Jose, CA. Another Local 265 member stricken with grief took his own life weeks later.

“This is a sad anniversary for our Union. Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of the victims and our members at Local 265 in San Jose,” said ATU International President John Costa. “These were fathers, brothers, sons, friends, and co-workers taken far too soon. We will always remember our fallen and will continue to do whatever we can to ensure a horrific event like this never happens again.”

Our Union, Local 265-San Jose, CA, and the VTA will pay tribute to our fallen brothers on May 26, 2022, at 6:15 am PT/7:15 am MT/8:15 am CT/9:15 am ET with a private candlelight vigil at the Guadalupe Division. The public can join the vigil online via Livestream on the VTA’s YouTube channel.
