More than 1,500 members from 20 locals took part in a lively telephone town hall with International President Larry Hanley and local presidents to discuss upcoming ATU's transit action events in communities across North America. Over the coming weeks these locals will be leafleting riders, holding rallies, hosting ride-alongs with elected officials and other events to engage and educate riders and the public about the need and importance of robust public transit to communities across North America. Members who participated in the telephone town hall were given the opportunity to enter random drawings to win an ATU jacket.
