Mission accomplished! More than 40 ATU Local Presidents/Business Agents and Financial Secretaries from across the U.S. and Canada came together for ATU’s innovative New Officer training in Washington, D.C. this week.
At the closing banquet, International President John Costa addressed the Local officers about their important roles, the challenges they face, and the critical skills they learned. “It’s been a great week at the training, learning from our staff and making connections with other Local officers,” said Costa. “You have an important role at your Local. I know it’s a difficult job. And remember, you can’t do this job from behind a desk. You have to get out and meet with your members and get them involved. Thank you for all you do, and know that the International is here to support you.”
Also in attendance at the training were International Executive Vice President Yvette Trujillo, International Secretary-Treasurer Ken Kirk, and International Vice Presidents Mark Henry, Amanda Sawyer-Turner, and Michael Cornelius. Connections were made, solidarity was strengthened, and leaders were empowered.
Thank you to our newest Local officers for fighting for the rights of our members!
