International President Costa in Dallas, TX, to Visit Local 1338 and Discuss Critical Issues

ATU leadership is on the ground in Dallas as International President John Costa and Secretary-Treasurer Ken Kirk visited with Local 1338 alongside President/Business Agent Donnie Jolly. These in-person conversations with our leaders are essential to keeping our union strong, informed, and united.

This visit comes at a critical time. DART is facing a serious crisis in 2026, with multiple suburban cities threatening to withdraw from the system amid disputes over funding, service concerns, and rising costs. These challenges put public transit, regional mobility, and the livelihoods of transit workers at risk.
The International and Costa are fully engaged and standing shoulder to shoulder with Local 1338 as these issues unfold. We are committed to protecting our members, defending strong public transit, and ensuring that workers have a seat at the table as decisions are made about DART’s future.

When transit is under threat, solidarity matters more than ever, and we will continue to show up, listen, and fight for our members.
