Growing apprenticeships means growing opportunity for transit workers. International President John Costa joined a labor-management meeting at our Local 1091 Union Hall in Austin to talk about the Apprenticeship Building America (ABA) grant, which is fueling the registered bus mechanic apprenticeship program there, with a coach operator program on the way.
“This is exactly the kind of partnership our industry needs,” said Costa. “Growing apprenticeships means more good union jobs and a workforce that’s ready for the road ahead.”
