IP John Costa made the cross-country trip from Spokane, WA, to Cape Cod, MA to attend the New England Joint Conference Board

From the West Coast to the Northeast, ATU International President John Costa made the cross-country trip from Spokane, WA, to Cape Cod, MA, to stand shoulder to shoulder with our members at another impactful ATU Conference Board meeting.

Locals from across New England—including Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, and New Hampshire, as well as delegations from Toronto and New York—came together in solidarity to address the critical issues facing transit workers in the region.
President Costa delivered powerful remarks, sharing invaluable insights on the national challenges and local opportunities that lie ahead for ATU members. “From contract fights to funding battles, safety concerns to organizing wins, our Union’s commitment to protecting workers’ rights and strengthening public transit is unwavering. Our collective voice becomes unstoppable when we come together like this, united across Locals, regions, and states. This isn’t just a Union, we’re a movement. Keep up the fight and thank you for the sacrifices you make every day to advance the ATU on the East Coast.”

Joining Costa at the New England Joint Conference Board were International Executive Vice President Yvette Trujillo, Secretary Treasurer Ken Kirk, IVPs Stephen Macdougall, Jacques Chapman, and Mark Henry, who represent Locals across New England as well as Conference Chair Jimmy Evers from Boston’s Carmen Union Local 589 and retired IVP Richie Murphy.
