Day Two of the ATU CAN-AM Conference in Orlando, FL

Day two of the ATU CAN-AM Conference kicked off today in Orlando, FL, with International President John Costa joining hundreds of ATU leaders who came together, transcending borders to advance our common cause.

Attendees heard from ATU Canada President John Di Nino about Canadian politics and the deep connections between the U.S. and Canada, highlighting the intrinsic ties between our Locals.

Reflecting on the importance of this cross-border collaboration, International President John Costa stated, “Our strength lies not just in our individual Locals, but in our unity. By working together, sharing strategies, and standing in solidarity, we ensure that the voices of transit workers in both countries are heard loud and clear. This conference embodies our commitment to a stronger, more united labor movement that knows no borders.”
The Conference also heard about the vital importance of mental health from our partners at FHE Health. Under Costa’s leadership, mental health has taken center stage at the ATU, recognizing that transit workers face unique stresses and challenges that impact both their professional performance and personal lives. Following the presentation, attendees shared powerful stories that reinforce the need for ATU’s commitment to mental health.
