Day One of the ATU International Women’s Caucus in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Today, the ATU International Women’s Caucus, a powerful voice within our Union, kicked off its conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. Caucus Chair Jackie Jeter and Local 1560 President/Business Agent Ronald Horn opened the conference with a lively Second Line performance, a historic and quintessential African American New Orleans art form, welcoming everyone to the Big Easy.

With the theme “No Limits, Only Possibilities,” ATU women and allies spent the day empowering themselves with knowledge from various dynamic speakers, including special presentations on parliamentary procedures and how to endure, cope, heal, and flourish after domestic violence. ATU women shared their stories and built connections and solidarity with one another. Representatives, including Councilmember Helena Moreno and State Representative Delisha Boyd, joined them as they reclaimed their time and power.

International Executive Vice President Yvette Trujillo, International Secretary-Treasurer Ken Kirk, and International Vice Presidents Natalie Cruz and Amanda Sawyer-Turner also attended day one of this impactful conference.
