As thousands of ATU members descend on New York City for the 61st ATU International Convention, the energy is building.
International President John Costa addressed meetings of the ATU Women’s Caucus and the Florida Legislative Conference Board, along with International Executive Vice President Yvette Trujillo, International Secretary-Treasurer Ken Kirk, and International Vice Presidents.

“From leading our Locals to organizing new members to winning strong contracts, ATU women are a force in the ATU. We have Yvette Trujillo, the first female and Latina International Executive Vice President in our Union’s history, Caucus Chair Jackie Jeter and the women in this room who make our Union the great Union we are,” said Costa.
Next Costa took an opportunity to tour the Convention Hall as final preparations are being made.

Later in day Costa visited members of the Florida Legislative Conference Board applauding the Local leaders for their fight back campaign against the union-busting SB 256. “I’m proud of the work you are doing in the state of Florida,” said Costa. “You are going to save the Labor movement in the Sunshine state. Thank you for your leadership.”

Tomorrow, our Union will begin to write the next chapter in ATU’s storied history.
