The ATU: House T&I Committee Reconciliation package sets the country on the right path

Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) International President John Costa released the following statement regarding the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee budget reconciliation package markup:

“We applaud the priorities set by Chair Peter DeFazio and the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee  in the upcoming budget reconciliation bill. This ambitious $3.5 trillion spending bill is a significant step toward strong social programs, including transportation, and other important priorities.

If passed, this bill will set our country on the right path with $10 billion to create more affordable housing and more accessible public transit for those who need it the most. We call on Congress to pass this legislation immediately and again thank President Biden and Congress for making this monumental bill and the Build Back Better agenda closer to a reality.”
