New York, NY – Striking New York City school bus drivers and matrons today released television and radio ads to support their effort to maintain an experienced and skilled workforce in New York City’s school busing industry, which is a direct result of retaining the Employee Protection Provision (EPP) in school bus company contract bids. The school bus drivers and matrons are members of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1181.

For nearly 50 years, the City has included an EPP in bus company contracts. An EPP is directly linked to the safety and security of our children by ensuring that the City’s most qualified, skilled, and experienced school bus crews remain on the job.
