ATU Local Officer Blog Registration

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The International Union is pleased to announce The ATU Local Officer Blog.  The blog is a powerful tool connecting local unions from everywhere in the United States and Canada, allowing you to post your comments, experiences and issues with all aspects of Union activity.

Before jumping into the discourse, keep these simple suggestions in mind:

1. Come with something to say.  The internet is already staggering in size and growing by the day.  To ensure that our Brothers and Sisters participate on the Local Officers Blog, keep your comments original and try to add something constructive to the discourse.

2. Be civil and respectful.
The purpose of the Local Officers Blog is to create an additional line of communication and support between locals across the country.  We are all the ATU!  Be courteous and respectful of your Brothers and Sisters on the blog.  Avoid profane or suggestive language, and represent the ATU proudly.

3. Listen as much as you speak.
Everyone has something insightful to add to the conversation, and everyone should be heard.  Make sure to read and respond to what other Brothers and Sisters have to say.  If you talk but do not listen, other users will tune you out!

4. Read the blog before you post.
If you are experiencing a particular issue, there is a good chance that someone else has experienced this issue as well.  Read the blog to look for similar topics before creating your own.  Duplicate topics can make the blog harder for users to navigate.

5. Keep it on the blog.
There are few secrets within our industry, but it is important for our Brothers and Sisters to feel at home on the blog and to be able to comment in confidence.  What is discussed on the blog should not be shared with individuals outside of the union.

The ATU Local Officers Blog is a tool meant to aid you, the member.  If you have any questions about the blog or comments on improving it, please contact Allen Nuccio at anuccio@atu.org.
