A new proposal is on the table for School Bus Drivers in Butte. After six hours of mediation talks between the Butte School District and the Amalgamated Transit Union, the district put forth a final package proposal.
Here are the terms of the District's proposal: It includes a 4.35% increase in base pay for the first year of a two year contract. Then a 3.5% increase in base pay for the second year. The district will also increase the monthly insurance contribution to $25 for both years.
Superintendent Chuck Uggetti says the new offer also proposes ways for bus drivers to make up some of the time lost due to the cut of eleven bus runs. The runs were cut as a result of all day kindergarten.
The union will vote on the contract January 8th.
