Drivers' License Regulations
Since 1992, all drivers of commercial motor vehicles in the United States have been required to hold a Commercial Driver’s License.
Similarly, in Canada, all bus operators and individuals operating public service vehicles are required to possess a valid driver’s licence of an appropriate class to operate the assigned vehicle.
Restrictions
In addition to these requirements, drivers in both countries are subject to certain restrictions on hours of service, medical qualifications, disqualification penalties, and other safety regulations.
